If it has wheels, it's in

Four-wheelers, Jeeps, side-by-sides, dirt bikes, cars, trucks, mountain bikes. We are not fussy. Bring what you've got.

You don't need to be an experienced off-roader and you don't need the fanciest machine on the mountain. Plenty of people who love this country have never sat on a four-wheeler in their lives. Come anyway.

How the day goes

Before we startFresh morning pastries and coffee. Every good adventure starts with food, and this one is no exception.
9:30 AMRegistration opens. Sign in, get sorted, say hello to people you haven't seen since last August.
10:30 AMThe mission list drops and you're off. This is the moment the whole year has been pointing at.
2:00 PMOur volunteer cooks put out a proper feast, free for every registered rider. We do not deserve them.
3:00 PMLive auction, raffles, prizes and games. This is where the real money gets raised, and it gets loud.

The 2026 ride was our biggest yet — and a storm knocked the power out in the middle of the live auction. Nobody left. The bidding kept right on going.

So what is a scavenger hunt ride?

It's a memorial ride through the Snowy Range with a treasure hunt bolted onto it. You get a mission list on the morning of the ride at the starting location, and then the mountain is yours for the day.

The missions

Some earn points. Some hide prizes.

Missions run from "take a photograph of this" to "find what's hidden here." Each one carries a different point value, so you build up a score across the day. But not every mission is about points — some exist purely to lead you to a prize location, and the first person to find it takes the prize.

A real example

The Crane Kick

One year the mission was to reenact the Crane Kick from The Karate Kid in front of Albany Lodge. The lodge had to be visible in the photo or it didn't count. That one was worth 400 points. The judges have seen things they cannot unsee.

The finish

Bring us your photographs

At the end of the ride you present your photos to the judges at the finish location. They get reviewed, they get argued about, and the best ones win. Then lunch, and then the auction.

The FUNdraising part

Live auction, punch box, raffles, a 50/50 draw, the treasure chest drawing, and more. Every dollar goes to student scholarships and Southeast Wyoming trail maintenance. That's the whole point of the day.

A day of riding, treasure, questionable photography and the sort of stories people bring up years later. You don't have to win anything to have a good time, though it does help.
